Lets me share with you what Gobala had email me.
I’m pretty annoyed by “disguised SPAM” on my blogs. Unlike normal SPAM, with this type of blog comment the user often stuffs the “Name” column with keywords or leave links on your comment box. The comment themselves are valid and meaningful. But clearly, the main motivation for leaving a comment is not to honestly participate in the conversation, but to increase the amount of keyword-rich links to their own websites. So how do you deal with these type of comments? Some people prefer to leave them be, as they assume a blog with a lot of comments gives the impression that it is popular. Some prefer to keep it real. If you belong to the second type, get this plugin I just released: http://www.resourceavail.com/autores/cl/?r=9eaa22d15f52d1faa1b0e4dbd037c613
It’s a very simple plugin, but deadly effective. On some of the blogs I’ve tested it, I already see positive results. People start using their real name instead of keywords, and the average time I spend moderating comments has been slashed in half. Sometimes, prevention is better than cure. You may find, like I did, that people are more than willing to abide by your rules if you clearly define them upfront.
